Dubrovnik Game of Thrones Driving Tour

Game of Thrones Filming Locations out of Dubrovnik Walls

My ladies my lords, you who have joined our walking tour and want more, or for those travelers who prefer the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, we offer a three hours Game of Thrones driving tour with completely different locations. Our driver will pick you up from the main square and take you to visit an enormous abandoned hotel, to a scenic mountaintop and to the most impressive botanical garden in the entire Balkan region, Trsteno. Since the late fifteenth century, this garden and its founders have been collecting exotic plants from all over the world, creating a true paradise. During the tour you will recognize the flowered pathways from the royal gardens of King's Landing, visit the Red Keep Pavilion, enjoy the 360 degrees panorama from top of Mt. Srđ (which will spare you 20€ for cable car ticket) and stand on the place where Prince Oberyn and the Mountain dueled in one of the most intense fight scenes of the entire series. Not only are these some of the best photo locations around Dubrovnik, but they are significant to the history of our city and can be difficult to find without an experienced driver and guide. At each stop we will spend some time exploring on foot, comparing freeze-frames from the show to their actual filming locations, so you can go home and show off your own photos from the Game of Thrones set!

This tour on request can be organized as a private option, with departure, inclusions and itinerary according your wishes.

The oldest botanical garden in the world is full of exotic plants, brought from all over the world by the sailors who were coming back home. The garden was used for various scenes from Royal Gardens of King's Landing.

Tripadvisor Member: „We spent 3 lovely days in Dubrovnik after having visited Medjugorje (but thats another story!) While the Old City/walls and the Stradun are very beautiful, we will always take away with us the memory of the tour we took on the 2nd day of our stay in Dubrovnik. It is officially called the Game of Thrones walking and car tour, but believe me when i tell you; it is SO much more!! Everyone who we came in to contact with from this company was friendly and very polite. Ante took the time to answer all the questions we had about the tour before we even decided to take it, we didnt feel like just another number. On the morning of the tour we were met by Katija who took us on the walking part of the tour, she knows her GOT and was very easy to talk to and patient when we stopped to take pictures every 5 steps :) Thank you Katija! The driving tour was EXCEPTIONAL and this really made our trip. Not only did we get to see many different GOT locations, MATIJA (our guide for the 2nd part of our tour) told us the HISTORY behind each place. He really knows his stuff and his motivation and enthusiasm is on another level. We got the most amazing pictures. He really went above and beyond and we cant thank him enough. He is like a walking history book! Thank you Matija for the amazing experience.“ Read more

Tours By Locals Jon J: „We had docked in Dubrovnik with our Cruise ship the Celebrity Constellation a few weeks back and as an avid GOT fan, I was ecstatic to see some of the filming locations. We were fortunate to be in Dubrovnik for 2 days so I did all the old town ourselves as I had originally researched the locations myself including Lokrum island for the actual Iron Throne, however I was keen to go to Trsteno Gardens infamous for various garden scenes throughout Kings landing as well as the abandoned Hotel Belvedere where Prince Oberyn fought the Mountain however both you had to either drive or jump on a tour. Luckily, on our second day, we were walking away from the port and met with a representative of Vidokrug who told us they do a driving tour to these exact locations amongst another location high in the mountain ('The Kings Road') for 330kn each. We decided to give it ago and go on the late afternoon/evening trip at 5pm. We met at the meeting point where we met Branko our driver/guide. We were with a family of four so it was a nice small group and all were very friendly. We had the most amazing time, my wife isn’t a huge GOT fan (although she's getting there!) but she really enjoyed the locations and I had a special treat as Branko is the only guide to have been an extra in both GOT filmings in Croatia and Ireland! He was very knowledgable about both the show and the locations (he is also Croatian) and I personally got a lot out of hearing his onset stories. The Highlight, which was hard to choose, was definitely watching the sunset over Old Town from Hotel Belvedere, one of the best sunsets I have ever seen (and we've seen a lot!) Branko even kindly dropped us off at the cruise terminal which is a bit further west of old town as well which was definitely appreciated! I would recommend anyone who loves GOT or even seeing parts of Dubrovnik that you wouldn't normally, to get on this tour!“ Read more
